Mitchellville Montessori School, Inc. (MMS) is an accredited Montessori School in Mitchellville, Maryland, dedicated to excellence in education. The facility is certified by the Maryland State Board of Education and the Department of Human Resources.
Established in 1992, the school is affiliated with the American Montessori Society (AMS). The School's mission is the education of the whole person through the Montessori approach, addressing the intellectual, social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of each child. Our goal is to foster independence, develop concentration, a sense of internal order and coordination; and to help the child to construct the adult personality she/he is in the process of becoming.
Mitchellville Montessori School offers two-year old programs, ~Primary programs~, and ~Elementary programs~ (grades 1-4). Before and after care services are also available to students who are enrolled at the school and to their siblings enrolled at nearby elementary schools, grades 1-6. MMS also offers a summer camp that begins in mid-June and ends in mid-August.
